Match Preview: MK Dons vs Watford

MK Dons Women observe a minute’s silence before kick off

After the disappointment of losing to Gillingham last weekend, the Dons are looking to get back to winning ways. But standing in their way is Watford, who are currently flying high after a 5 * performance vs the Dons only a few weeks ago.

The Dons failed to score for only the second game of this season, and manager Charlie Bill will hope that his attacking players can once again re-find the back of the net.

Tried as they tried, they were unable to break down the stubborn Gillingham defence and they held on and walked away from MK with a 2-0 Win.

The Dons were dispatched by a very professional Watford side. A Helen Ward brace followed Bianca Baptiste’s powerful opener, plus goals from Ellie Head and Annie Rossiter completed an excellent display against their league rivals.

Manager Charlie Bill, “We are ready to regroup & go again. We know the tough task that Watford are going to present us, we learnt this a few weeks ago in the cup game. We learnt a lot of valuable lessons in that game & we feel in a much better position heading into the league game to set ourselves up in the best way to go & get those 3 points in the league”

Nicola Puddick, “Of course, it was disappointing to drop points last against Gillingham, however as always, with a lose comes opportunities to learn and reflect on our performance both individually and as a team.

We’ve all been really focused this week, analysing the game and picking our moments we need to put right in the next run of games. we have coming ups. We’ve been working hard not only on the pitch but also off it too. So I feel confident that we will start seeing positive results again”
