Brighton & Hove Albion welcomed Tottenham Hotspur to the American Express Stadium for the final game of the 2025/26 Women’s Super League season.
It was a contest that ended dramatically as the visitors snatched a stoppage-time victory.
Both sides carved out promising openings in the first half, but neither could find a breakthrough.
Brighton remained defensively solid, while Spurs controlled much of the possession without turning it into a decisive advantage.
The deadlock was broken shortly after the restart. In the 49th minute, Madison Haley fired a precise left-footed effort into the bottom corner to give Brighton the lead, sparking a surge of energy around the stadium.
Tottenham responded with urgency, increasing the pressure as the game wore on. Their persistence paid off in the 81st minute when Olivia Holdt found the equaliser, setting up a tense finale.
With seven minutes of added time announced, the match seemed destined to end level, despite both sides pushing for a late winner.
But Spurs had the final say. Two minutes into stoppage time, in the 92nd minute, Maika Hamano reacted quickest on the edge of the box.
She struck her right-footed effort beyond the goalkeeper to seal a 2–1 comeback victory, bringing their 2025/26 campaign to a thrilling and positive conclusion.
