Crystal Palace returned to the Barclays Women’s Super League this past weekend, facing Everton at the VBS Community Stadium.
The Eagles got off to a flying start as Lexi Lloyd-Smith scored the only goal in the season opener. The scoreline didn’t reflect the match, however, as Palace showed a dominant display, having six shots on target compared to the Toffees’ two.
Everton went in search of an equaliser, but Palace’s defence was unbreakable both in spirit and in game as they held until the final whistle to open their WSL account with three points.
