The second week of the Guard1anes saw all 18 teams in action throughout the 9 fixtures as the League was getting back underway and teams were looking to create some momentum in the early stages of the new campaign.
Cruz Azul 1-1 Club Leon
The first game of the second round of games see the one deadlock as Cruz Azul hosted Club Leon with both teams scoring but neither team able to cement the win in the game. The home side time took the lead on the stroke of half time with a goal from Karime Abud on the 45th minute. Only for Club Leon to snatch away the victory in the 90th minute with a goal from Daniela Calderon.
Queretarto 3-2 Atl. San Luis
Queretarto came out on top in a 5 goal thriller against Atl. San Luis as they won the game 3-2. Atl. San Luis went into the half time break with a 0-1 lead through Isabel Kasis on the 28th minute. But Queretarto pulled level just after the break with a goal on the 47th minute from Lizette Rodriguez, but Atl. San Luis found themselves back in front on the hour mark through an Estefania Izaguirre goal. But Queretarto pulled level on the 68th minute through Maritza Maldonado before getting the winning goal on the 88th minute. The winning goal was scored by Daniela Sanchez.
Mazatlan 1-2 Guadalajara
Guadalajara took a trip away to Mazatlan and it was the home team that took the lead through a Casandra Montero goal on the 20th minute. Guadalajara pulled level on the 40th minute with an Alicia Cervantes goal. But it was a second-half penalty that decided the tie as Guadalajara turned the game around on the 66th minute that Christian Jaramillo converted to give Guadalajara the 1-2 victory.
Atlas 2-1 U.A.N.L Tigres
Atlas came out 2-1 winners over U.A.N.L Tigres with a brace from Alison Gonzalez with goals on the 8th and 50th minute. U.A.N.L Tigres tried to get back into the game and managed to pull one back on the 60th minute with a goal from Katty Martinez with 30 minutes left to go but the goal couldn’t spark the comeback.
Puebla 0-3 U.N.A.M Pumas
Puebla played their first game of the season up against U.N.A.M Pumas but a 0-3 victory for the away team saw them score as many goals as they picked up points. Daniela Garcia opened the scoring on the 11th minute. And the score was 0-2 on the 22nd minute due to a goal by Paola Chavero Alvarez. And the game was complete when in injury time Laura Herrera made it 0-3 to U.N.A.M Pumas.
Club America 2-1 Juarez
Club America hosted Juarez in their second home game. In a cagey 2-1 victory for the home team Juarez made it hard for Club America. An own goal put Club America into the lead before Atzimba Casas pulled Juarez level just before the break on the 44th minute. But a wonder goal from the bench by Eva Gonzalez on the 85th minute saw Club America walk away with the 2-1 victory.
Monterrey 5-0 Necaxa
Monterrey pulled off their second 5 goal win in 2 games. 10 goals scored and 0 conceded so far. Necaxa will be sure of a day to forget as Monterrey scored goals by Monica Flores, Monica Monsivais and Aylin Avilez in the first half going in at 3-0 up. It was another two in the second scored by Christina Burkenroad and Aylin Avilez who got her second of the goal to finish off a great day for the home team.
Pachuca 1-2 Santos Laguna
Pachuca hosted Santos Laguna but it was the visitors that made sure they walked away with all 3 points. A goal in both halves saw them take a 0-2 lead with goals from Cinthya Peraza on the 23rd minute. The 51st minute saw them double the lead via Alexandra Ramirez. Pachuca pulled one back on the 86th minute but through Monica Alvarado but couldn’t find their way back on level terms.
Tijuana 0-1 Toluca
The final game of round two saw Tijuana host Toluca in a game that was settled by a penalty. On the 15th minute, Toluca were awarded a penalty and Arlett Tovar stepped up to take and score the spot-kick. Neither team could score from open play as the game played out to a 0-1 victory for the away team.
