Villa Complete Signing Of Chloe Arthur

Scotland International Chloe Arthur has completed a move to Women’s Super League side Aston Villa from Birmingham City.
 
Arthur who hails from Erskine signs for the newly promoted side ahead of the new 2020/21 season after the 2019/20 season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
 
The 25-year-old midfielder spent the past two seasons at Birmingham City and in 2019/20 made started 12 of their 13 league games as they finished 11th one point above the relegation zone. She has also spent time with Celtic, Hibernian and Bristol City during her career. 
 
Aston Villa manager Gemma Davies said: “Chloe is a current Scottish International, who also has an abundance of Super League experience having played at Birmingham and Bristol City.
 
“Chloe a very technical player, with a fantastic ability to weave the ball out of tight spaces, under pressure and play into bigger areas.
 
“I feel that there is so much more to come from Chloe, as she has a huge amount of talent and I’m really excited to see how she continues to develop in a Villa shirt.”
 

On signing her deal Arthur explained “It’s good to finally be here after lockdown and it feels real now that I’m putting pen-to-paper. A standout factor was the professionalism and ambition of the club and the people they have in place to really drive them forward. That excited me and made me want to be here and have a fresh start at a new club.”

 
“The main aim for me is to enjoy football. You often go through low patches so having a new start and a new challenge is going to allow me to enjoy myself. I want to score more goals than I have done in previous seasons – that’s always a target for me. Being part of an exciting team, I think I’ll be able to accomplish my goals here.”
 
Arthur has won 21 caps for Scotland and was part of the World Cup squad for the Women’s World Cup 2019 in France.
