Northern team Huddersfield Town have scored an impressive 17 goals in the competition this season. They started their journey with a 7-2 win over Boldmere St Michael and overcame a tricky Liverpool Feds side to secure their spot in the final with a 1-0 win. They sit fourth in the league and have won 13 out of 23 games, with just one left to play.

In one of their biggest games of the season Town are within a fighting chance of bringing silverware back to the club. Their first chance of two, as the following weekend they face Barnsley in the Sheffield FA County Cup Final.

The closest either team has come to a place in this final was in the 2019/20 season. Southampton, who were a fourth-tier side at the time, reached the semi-finals where they faced Sunderland. It was Sunderland who progressed however due to covid the final wasn’t played and the competition was void.
