England produced a dominant performance as they welcomed Greece to the King Power Stadium in Leicester for the second leg of their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 qualifying play-off.
The Lionesses made a flying start, with Alessia Russo opening the scoring inside three minutes before Lauren James doubled the advantage. Georgia Stanway added a third, and James struck again before half-time to put England firmly in control.
England continued to create chances after the break, with Russo completing her brace in the 75th minute to seal a convincing 5–0 victory on the night and an 8–1 aggregate win. The result sent England through to the next round of the play-offs, where they will face Ukraine as they continue their pursuit of a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
