Fenerbahçe Women secured a historic 2–1 victory over Metalist 1925 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualifying round semi-final, recording the club’s first-ever win in European competition.
Captain Ece Türkoğlu made history by scoring Fenerbahçe’s first-ever European goal, giving the Turkish side an early breakthrough. Fenerbahçe then added a second to take control of the contest, before Metalist 1925 pulled a goal back.
Despite the late pressure, Fenerbahçe held on to secure a memorable victory and book their place in the qualifying final, moving one step closer to the Champions League league phase.
