News: Chelsea Confirm Adelina Engman To Leave

Chelsea have confirmed that Adelina Engman has left the club and signed for French club Montpellier HSC.

Engman who is a Finland International played in two Women’s Super League games for the Blues in 2019-20 and the scored once a last minute equaliser away at Brighton & Hove Albion.

A thigh injury limited her first-team action this season, as Chelsea went on to win the Women’s Super League title.

Engman scored five goals from nine starts in London and she opened her account for the Blues in their Champions League win against Sarajevo with a clipped finish over the goalkeeper. Overall she netted six times in 25 appearances for the club.

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes said on Engman’s departure: “That equaliser at Brighton has gone a long way to securing another league title for us.

“I know Adelina hasn’t had the best couple of years, due to injury, but she’s made telling contributions when they mattered. She’s been a great team-mate off the pitch, a pleasure to coach, and I look forward to seeing her career progress at her new club.”
