Wilshire has now returned to Yeovil Town, reforming a small group of players who were part of that 2016 title winning team. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game to a relatively young Yeovil Town side, and is aiming to help them secure a top place finish in the National League Southern Premier this season.
Player Sponsorship Announcement: Sarah Wiltshire x Since 71
Since 71 are pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring Yeovil Town Women’s #7 Sarah Wiltshire for the 2019/20 season.
Wiltshire is an experienced forward/midfielder who began her senior career at Arsenal in 2007, when she was aged just 15. She then spent several years at Watford before signing for her first spell at Yeovil Town in 2014. During this time she also made 31 appearances for the Welsh National Team.
In January 2015 Wiltshire signed her first professional contract at Manchester City, but returned to Yeovil after making only 1 appearance. After helping Yeovil win the WSL 2 in 2016 and earn promotion to the Super League, she took a break from football to have her first child, but began playing again just in time for the 2017 Spring Series. Before Yeovil’s first season in the WSL 1 started, she announced she would not be able to continue playing for them as she couldn’t commit to the travelling for training at that time.
She signed for WSL 2 side Tottenham Hotspur, where she spent 2 seasons, also helping them secure promotion to the WSL just like at Yeovil. However, this time she was one of the players who was released by the club ahead of their first professional season.
