Pilks visited Tranmere Rovers in their final league game of the season, knowing that a win would cement a third-place finish in the league.

The first goal was scored by Luna Fenlon who made a brilliant run into the box before shooting with her left foot into the bottom right-hand corner.

Tranmere had a number of opportunities down the right-hand side but we’re unable to capitalise on any long balls over the top.

Right on half time Carla Landers had a superb strike from over eighteen yards into the back of the net, pushing Pilks lead to 2-0 at the break.

The second half began very end to end, both teams looking for the opportunity but no one could create any meaningful chances.

It was Tranmere who broke this stalemate as their hard work was rewarded to make it 2-1 with twenty minutes to go.

It took Nicole Franey to step up and work her way through Rovers’ defence to secure the three points for Pilks, confirming their third-place finish.
