Moneyfields narrowly miss out on the league title after they suffer a 2-1 loss against Swindon Town in a tense and closely fought match.

The match began with a minute’s applause in memory of Mick Gee before play got underway, with promotion on the line. Moneyfields made the brighter start and came close to opening the scoring in the 15th minute when Liv Venditto struck the inside of the post from Shannon Albuery’s cross. Swindon responded well and were kept in the contest by goalkeeper Hannah Cox, who produced a number of important saves during a competitive first half.

With both sides evenly matched, Swindon broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Taylor MacDonald found the net with a superb strike from outside the box to give the visitors the advantage at the break.

Moneyfields pushed for a response after the restart, making several changes and creating further chances, while Swindon remained disciplined at the back and looked dangerous on the counter. The game continued at a high tempo, with both sides battling from end to end, before Swindon doubled their lead in the 90th minute when Sahara Osborne-Ricketts rose highest to power home a header. Moneyfields pulled a goal back deep into stoppage time, but it proved only a consolation as Swindon sealed a 2–1 victory to secure the league title and promotion to Tier 3.
