Chelsea Women produced a confident and clinical display to secure a 4–1 victory over Everton Women at Goodison park underlining their strength and desire to place themselves in a Champions League spot as the season nears its conclusion.

The visitors started on the front foot,  opening the scoring early after sharp attacking play by Kerr which carved open the Everton defence. The Toffees responded well, drawing level 6 minutes later with a lovely strike from Japanese midfielder Yuka Momiki.

However, Chelsea took control in the second half. Kerr struck again to restore the lead just 2 minutes after the restart, showcasing her trademark composure in front of goal.

Sam Kerr did have a controversial goal disallowed as her headed effort rolled across the goal and saved by Everton Skipper Brosnan, however as replys show the ball did cross the line and Sam Kerr was right with her protest in claiming the goal.

From there, Chelsea’s attacking quality began to tell. Additional goals from Carpenter & Cuthbert put the result beyond doubt, as Everton struggled to contain the sustained pressure.

The result not only adds three valuable points to the board but also reinforces Chelsea’s momentum and Champions League hopes, heading into the final stretch of the campaign.
