Aston Villa Women earned an impressive 0–0 draw against Manchester City Women in the Women’s Super League, picking up a valuable point against the league leaders in a closely fought contest.
Villa started brightly and had the better opportunities in the first half, including hitting the post, while City appeared a bit off the pace following the international break.
After the interval, City stepped up their pressure and looked more dangerous going forward, but Villa’s defence and goalkeeper remained solid to deny them. In the end, both sides had chances, but neither could break the deadlock, with Villa’s organised and determined display earning them a well-deserved point.
We were fortunate enough to have Jermaine Addo-Yeboah on hand to capture the action.
