Bristol City picked up a valuable victory in their title chase as a brace from Grace Clinton helped the Vixens take all three points from Crystal Palace.
Manchester United loanee Grace Clinton opened the scoring when she latched onto Abi Harrison’s chipped pass and poked the ball over the on-rushing Fran Kitching.
Crystal Palace’s Anna Filbey went close to levelling the scoreline, but her effort from almost 30 yards out struck the crossbar.
Clinton doubled City’s lead in first-half stoppage time with a driven free-kick from the edge of the penalty area which found the bottom corner.
The ever-reliable Harrison completed the scoring as she slotted home from close range following a superb team move.
London City Lionesses’ defeat to Sheffield United means that Bristol City have now extended their lead to 6 points at the top of the Barclays Women’s Championship with seven games to play.
We were fortunate to have photographer Ryan Asman on hand to capture all of the action.
