Photo Diary: AEK Boko vs Poole Town

AEK-Boco came away with a well-earned 2–0 win in their South West Regional Women’s Football League – Premier Division clash against Poole Town at The Shield Pavilion in Kingswood, Bristol.

The first half was a tight affair, with both sides taking time to feel each other out. Poole looked dangerous on the flanks, using their pace to push forward, but couldn’t find the breakthrough they were looking for. At the other end, Boco created several good chances, only to be denied by some sharp goalkeeping from Poole’s keeper, who ensured the score remained goalless at the break.

In the second half, Boco made attacking changes that immediately shifted the momentum. The added pace up front gave them more control of possession and kept Poole on the back foot.

Their persistence paid off when Lucy Atkinson broke the deadlock, turning her marker cleverly before chipping the goalkeeper — the ball nestling perfectly into the bottom left corner. Later in the half, Jess Dobbins doubled the lead, rising highest to meet a corner and heading home beyond the reach of the Poole keeper.

The match finished 2–0 in favour of AEK-Boco Ladies.

Boco are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Bournemouth to face Bournemouth Sports at Chapel Gate in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Third Round Qualifying.

We were also fortunate to have photographer Billy East (B.East Photography) on hand to capture some of the action from the match.
