AEK Boco came out with another victory at home at the LA Clarke Pavilion, this time it was against Frome Town who were placed in third before the game. Boco needed to either draw or win to confirm second place in the South West Regional Womens Football League Eastern Division.
Boco had more possession throughout the game and were just unlucky with their chances, one shot hitting the post in the first half.
Lucy Atkinson came close in the second half as she followed up a saved shot which the keeper was unable to hold onto but her shot went just passed the post. While at the other end, it was Frome’s chance to go close but, Leila Russell, was equal in the Boco goal.
As the match went into the dying stages Boco didn’t settle for the point needed, they pushed on for the winner and their hard work paid off in the eighty-seventh minute. Lucy Atkinson picked up the ball on the left-hand side, cut inside, turned the defender and found space before taking the shot which floated over the goalkeeper.
We were fortunate enough to have photographer Billy East (B.East Photography) on hand to capture some of the action.
