Match Report : MK Dons 0- 1 Ipswich Town

Don’s left heartbroken thanks to a late wonder strike from Natasha Thomas.  Thomas’ acrobatic volley sees the tractor girls take all three points at Stadium MK as The Dons are left to rue missed opportunities.

After a gruelling 3 game match week the Dons faced Ipswich Town at stadium MK. Going into the game they had been in fine run of form with two back-to-back 3-0 wins and were confident of getting a result vs a side that they have struggled with over the past few seasons.

Dons started off brightly as they looked defensively sound as they looked to subdue and frustrate Ipswich. They allowed Ipswich most of the early position as they looked to counter quickly, and this tactic was working very well. As Mollie Coupar, Emily Wilson who was met by the Ipswich Town offside trap, and Laura Mitchell had opportunities bit fired wide.

Chloe Samson had some early work to do in the first half and produced a great near post save from a shot from Baker. Town almost took the lead just before the break as Peskett was at the forefront of the action. But Ruby Doe was unable to direct her back-post header on target.

Dons themselves had a late chance at the end of the first half, but Gemma Biggadike’s header from a corner ultimately landed over the bar. 0-0 HT
