Stadium MK – Milton Keynes

After 4 consecutive away games, MK Dons are finally back home at Stadium MK as they take on Crawley Wasps in the FAWNL Southern Premiership.

Buoyant from the recent run of games that has seen the Dons take 7 points from a total of 12. Yet in contrast Crawley’s form this season has been remarkably poor. They are currently sitting bottom of the league with only 7 points, and will be smarting from last weekend’s heavy defeat to Oxford United 6-1.  This was the 3rd time this season Crawley had conceded 6 in a game.

Speaking of 6. The last time the Dons played Crawley on the opening day of the season. MK won 6-1, Mollie Coupar started her impressive goal scoring run with 2 goals on the opening day, as well as Gemma Biggadike, Nicola Peeper x2 and Lucy Wood were all on the score sheet.

Crawley will be desperate to end 3 defeats in a row, but the task if following form could be almost impossible as they have only won twice on the road this season vs Norwich and Moneyfields respectively.

Whereas the Dons Home form this season has been impressive only losing twice at home. Winning 6 out of the 8 games they have played.

Going into the game Mollie Coupar will be looking to extend her goal scoring form. Currently the striker has already scored 20 goals this season. Oxfords striker Carly Johns is her closest rival in the race for the golden boot with 17.

Zoe Barratt – MK Dons Women – “Playing football is a huge part of my life so it was frustrating to be out injured for 3 months, so to be back on the pitch feels so good. Now I just want to train hard and preform well in the remaining games and help the team finish as high up the table as possible”

Charlie Bill – MK Dons Women Manager – “We can’t wait to be back at Stadium MK, off the back of two fantastic results on the road. Gaining 6 points, with back to back clean sheets. We now want to use this as momentum to show all our home fans the excellent performances we have been showing on the road. We know Crawley Wasps are battling down the bottom end of the table & have been unlucky with tight games not going their way so we expect another tough test”
