Have Your Say: FSA Launches New Women’s Football Supporters Survey

Fans

The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) has launched its latest survey looking at the experiences and views of fans across the women’s game — and they want supporters from right across the pyramid to have their say.

The survey is the third major women’s football supporters survey carried out by the FSA, following previous editions in 2022 and 2024.

It covers a wide range of topics, from the experience of attending matches and how clubs engage with their supporters, to television coverage, the development of the women’s game and wider issues both on and off the pitch.

The survey takes around 10–15 minutes to complete and can be completed here.

Importantly, this isn’t just a survey for supporters of clubs at the top of the women’s football pyramid. The FSA is looking for responses from fans across England and Wales, whether you follow a Women’s Super League club, a side in the Women’s National League, a grassroots team or simply support the women’s game more generally.

That means season-ticket holders, regular matchgoers and those who rarely get to a game can all contribute.

You don’t even have to attend matches. If you follow the women’s equivalent of your men’s team from the sofa, watch games on TV or simply keep an eye on what is happening across the women’s game, your views are just as relevant.

The aim is to build as comprehensive a picture as possible of what supporters think about the current state of the women’s game — and where it needs to go next.

The results will help shape the FSA’s policy work and will be used in its discussions with key stakeholders across the women’s game. The findings will also be made available to supporter groups at a local level.

Previous surveys have provided an interesting insight into what fans want from the women’s game, including issues around broadcasting, accessibility and the matchday experience.

The 2022 survey can be read here, while the findings from the 2024 survey are available here.

FSA Head of Women’s Football Deborah Dilworth said the latest survey would help provide a clearer picture of supporters’ views across all levels of the game.

“We are excited to launch the third edition of the women’s game supporters survey, which will really help us understand what is in the minds of fans across the country at all levels.”

With the women’s game continuing to grow, having a genuine understanding of what supporters want — and what they believe could be done better — is increasingly important.

So, if you follow women’s football, take 10–15 minutes and have your say.
