There are just over twenty-four hours until The One Goal’s #TogetherAgainstCorona Campaign ends. You have until 6pm on June 2nd to register and be in with a chance of winning a signed match worn shirt from the likes of Pernille Harder, Magdalena Eriksson, Beth England, Lucy Bronze, Dominique Bloodworth, Lotta Schelin, Ingrid Engen, Leticia Santos, Kosovare Asllani, Fridolina Rolfo, Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir, Hanna Bennison, Alexandra Popp… take a breath… Sara Doorsoun, Beth Mead, Lara Dickenmann, Friederike Abt, Kristine Minde, Maren Mjelde and last but very much not least, Lena Goeßling.
The One Goal is a project set up by women’s football photographer, Daniela Porcelli, a Sweden international goalkeeper, Hedvig Lindahl. Daniela told me, “I had an idea to get Women’s players involved and get signed items from them to auction off towards fans and supporters. On 1st April 2018 a friend of mine told me to ask Hedvig Lindahl about a jersey. After a chat and email conversation, our dream was born and The One Goal was officially created in July 2018.”
Back then, being a new organisation it was initially difficult for Daniela to obtain match-worn merchandise. But with the network of Hedvig’s the organisation quickly gained momentum and more players came on board to raise money for good causes.
This campaign is specifically seeking to raise funds for the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. 80% of the money raised will go to the aforementioned fund, while the remaining amount will go to a charity, project or cause of the donating player’s choosing.
If you are interested in being in with a shout of owning one of the shirts then please don’t hang around! Visit theonegoal.org before 6pm UK time on June 2nd. A £5 donation gets you ten entries (effectively raffle tickets) and £10 gets you twenty-two entries. If you really want to boost your chances of winning then a £50 donation will give you 130 entries.
The winners are to be announced on the evening of June 2nd. But maybe don’t enter the running for the Lucy Bronze and Lena Goeßling shirts as I’ve got my heart set on them!
