Kicking things off in the Women’s FA Cup this weekend will be National League side, Nottingham Forest as they welcome Manchester City to the City Ground.

Andy Cook’s Forest side have defeated Lichfield, Wolves and Stoke to reach this stage of the tournament; running out a narrow 2-1 victory in the third round.

As a top tier side City only enter the competition in this round, having won it three times previously. However, this season they have been struggling in the league. Picking up 20 out of a possible 36 points they sit fifth in the table.

The sides face off for the first time in what will be a tough test for Forest, who have had a good start to their season. Fourth in the table they will be full of confidence and raring to go.

On Thursday evening Nottingham Forest Women were playing a National League game against Sheffield FC. Now, less than 48 hours later, they will walk out onto the pitch at The City Ground for their biggest game of the season; a FA Cup fourth round tie against WSL side Manchester City.

Cook explained to us, “It’s a tough week but we’ve prepared well and can’t wait for the game tomorrow now. ‘You can either be an expert in describing your circumstances or an expert in executing in your circumstances'”

Kick off for this game is 1 pm, with tickets still available here for just £5 for adults and £1 for children. The game will also be shown on City+.
