West Ham United delivered an emphatic performance in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday, 1 November, securing a convincing 4–1 victory over Liverpool at home.

The Hammers made an immediate impact, taking the lead in the seventh minute when Viviane Asseyi confidently converted a penalty. Their advantage was doubled just eight minutes later as Leila Wandeler produced a composed finish to score her first-ever WSL goal.

West Ham continued to threaten as the first half progressed, adding a third shortly before the interval. Laia Codina’s effort from outside the penalty area took a significant deflection off Jenna Clark, looping over goalkeeper Khiara Keating and into the net to give the hosts a comfortable advantage at the break.

The Hammers picked up where they left off after the interval, continuing to put Liverpool under pressure. Asseyi was once again on target in the 62nd minute, stepping up to take a free kick just outside the penalty area before curling an excellent effort into the top corner to extend West Ham’s lead to four.

Liverpool managed to find a response ten minutes later through Vivien Endemann, who pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute. However, it proved to be little more than a consolation as the visitors struggled to recover from the hosts’ commanding display.
