Swindon Town Women produced a dominant second-half display to secure a 3–1 victory over Bristol Rovers Women.
The Gas took the lead early on when a deep free-kick wasn’t fully cleared and Amelie Gould capitalised to put Rovers ahead. Swindon responded positively, applying sustained pressure, and drew level in the 39th minute. A dangerous corner from MacDonald caused chaos in the box before Sarah King calmly slotted home to make it 1–1 at the break.
Town carried that momentum into the second half and completed the turnaround four minutes after the restart. Libby Davies rose highest to guide a superb header into the top corner from a corner delivery, giving Swindon a deserved lead.
The hosts continued to press and extended their advantage midway through the half when Annie Colston struck a superb volley from the edge of the area to make it 3–1.
Swindon remained in control late on, with Hannah Cox producing an outstanding double save in stoppage time to deny Rovers and preserve the two-goal cushion. Another chance from Rovers came from a good cross by Annys that was met by the head of Chloe Snook but her glancing header just went wide!
A strong all-round performance saw Swindon Town Women convincingly claim all three points.
We were fortunate enough to have B.East Photography (Billy East) on hand to capture the action.
