Fresh from the high of their Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United were brought sharply back down to earth as Manchester City delivered a dominant display at the Etihad Stadium, sweeping their rivals aside with a confident 3–0 victory to remain top of the Women’s Super League.
Rebecca Knaak broke the deadlock in the twenty-sixth minute with a perfectly placed header. Khadija Shaw added a second just before half-time. Lauren Hemp, starting for the first time since her ankle injury, rounded off a ruthless first-half with a thunderous strike passed Safia Middleton-Patel.
We were fortunate to have photographer Clare Overfield (@shootslikeagirlphotography) on hand to capture the action.
