Photo Diary: Frampton Rangers 2-1 Whitchurch

Frampton Rangers secured their place in the Gloucestershire FA Women’s Trophy Final with a hard-fought victory over Whitchurch at GFA Headquarters in Almondsbury, Bristol.

Despite a two-division gap between the sides, the match was an evenly contested battle from start to finish. Frampton had the edge in possession, but Whitchurch looked dangerous on the counterattack.

The breakthrough came when Frampton struck first—an initial shot was saved but parried into the path of their striker, who calmly slotted it home to make it 1-0. However, Whitchurch responded spectacularly just before half time, unleashing a stunning 35-yard drive that nestled into the bottom left corner, leveling the score at 1-1.

The second half remained a tight contest, with Whitchurch defending resolutely to keep Frampton at bay. However, a costly defensive error in the box led to a late penalty, which Frampton converted to seal a dramatic victory.

With this win, Frampton Rangers Ladies advanced to the final, where they will face Gloucester City Ladies at Bishops Cleeve Football Club on Thursday, April 24th, at 7:30 PM.

We were also fortunate to have photographer Billy East (@B.EastPhoto) capturing the action – stay tuned for some fantastic shots from the match.
