An entertaining Barclays Women’s Super League contest at Goodison Park, which saw the first-ever Women’s Super League Merseyside derby held there with 22,161 spectators witnessed a historic night.
Blues go ahead courtesy of Gabby George, but Liverpool were able to build pressure and Katie Stengel’s excellent finish ensured the red went into half time drawing.
The second half continued very much the same, both teams were pushing to get the goal but Leighanne Robe and Jess Park each had goals disallowed.
During stoppage time there was more drama we’re both teams missed opportunities to get the win.
