Photo Diary: England 2-0 Iceland

England’s women’s team claimed a solid 2–0 win over Iceland in their World Cup qualifying match at the City Ground.

The Lionesses controlled much of the game, creating more chances and keeping most of the possession. They went ahead in the first half when Lucy Bronze scored with a header from a cross by Lauren James. Iceland had a brief opportunity to get back into the match but were denied by a strong save from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.

England eventually doubled their lead late in the second half, with Georgia Stanway finishing well to secure the victory and continue England’s strong start to the qualifying campaign.

We were fortunate to have Mia Betts on hand to capture the action for us.
