Sarina’s Lionesses were emphatic 8–0 winners over China, driven by a ruthless attacking display and contributions from across the frontline.
Lauren Hemp opened the scoring with a composed finish before Alessia Russo doubled the lead with a sharp strike inside the box. Georgia Stanway added a third from the edge of the area, and Ella Toone made it four just before the break with a well-timed run and finish.
The second half was equally dominant with Chloe Kelly netted twice in quick succession, Beth Mead added her name to the scoresheet with a curled effort, and Lauren James capped the performance with a trademark long-range strike.
Goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse will have been happy to have come away with a clean sheet on her debut, although if given the nod tomorrow evening, then she’ll be hoping for more opportunities to show what she can do and stake a claim for the number one jersey.
