Photo Diary: Birmingham City 5-1 Nottingham Forest

Birmingham City Women turned a tight first half into a runaway win, beating Nottingham Forest 5–1 at St Andrew’s.

Blues pressed aggressively from the start and went ahead through Veatriki Sarri, whose shot deflected in on 22 minutes. Forest levelled right on half-time through Joy Omewa, on her debut, making it 1–1 at the break.

The second half was one-way traffic. Wilma Leidhammar restored the lead just two minutes after the restart with a close-range header. From there, Lotta Lindström took over — capitalising on a Forest mistake to make it 3–1 before scoring twice more in quick succession to complete a hat-trick in six minutes on her home debut.

Birmingham continued to dominate late on, even hitting the crossbar in stoppage time, as Forest struggled to cope with the hosts’ intensity.

The result capped a commanding second-half display and sends Amy Merricks’ side into their next WSL2 trip to Durham full of momentum.

We were fortunate enough to have Lola Suthon on hand to capture the action.
