AEK Boco came out with the victory at home to Paulton Rovers at the LA Clarke Pavilion. Paulton were looking to upset AEK-Boco’s unbeaten run to the season in the South West Regional Women’s Football League – Northern Division, but it wasn’t to be.
Boco took the lead to make it 1-0 through left-back Millie Lacey after charging into the box and hitting a right-footed shot into the left-hand corner of the goal. Only minutes later Paulton using the pace they had down the left side put a low cross into the box and Millie accidently put a cross into the back of her own net to make it 1-1.
Then around the half-hour mark Aimee Clark got on the end of a cross just before the keeper could get to it, to hit a low shot into the left-hand corner to make it 2-1 before half time.
Boco had more chances to score in the second half including a 1v1 with the keeper and the shot being put over the bar and then Emilie Channing-Cone sadly hitting the post from a penalty after her Player of the Match display. Emilie sadly will be out for six weeks after she tore her MCL.
AEK Boco Ladies Goals scored by Millie Lacey x1 and Aimee Clark x1.
We were fortunate enough to have photographer Billy East on hand to capture some of the action.
