Millie Turner Extends Her Man United Deal

Defender Millie Turner has extended her contract at Women’s Super League club Manchester United.

Turner has extended her deal until the end of the 2021/22 season, with an option to extend for a further year.

The centre-back made her 50th Manchester United appearance on Sunday as the Red Devils held champions Chelsea to an opening day 1-1 draw.

On Tuesday she also recieved her first call up by Phil Neville to the England national team for their latest training camp at St George’s Park.

She has also played in the top flight for Everton, Notts County and Bristol City before making her move to United and helping Casey Stoney’s side to reach the top flight.

On signing her new with the Red Devils Turner told the club website “I’m so happy to be signing a new contract; the club is like family and I want to thank Casey and the staff for believing in me.”

“Making my 50th appearance at the weekend was such a proud moment for me, it’s a huge honour every time I pull on the shirt and I hope it’s just one of many milestones I can achieve here.”

“I’m really looking forward to continuing this journey with my team; we’re hungry for success and I’m excited for what the future holds for us.”

Stoney went on to add” Millie has been a solid figure in our backline for the last couple of years and I’m so pleased she has extended her stay with the club.”

“She is always pushing herself and others, and aside from her obvious talent on the pitch, she is such a positive character to have in our environment and that really has an impact throughout the team.”

“She has a fantastic work rate and attitude, and I’m looking forward to continuing our work with her.”

Manchester United travel to Birmingham City in their second game of the new campaign this Sunday.
