Yeovil Town suffered a 5-1 defeat as they traveled to Devon to face Plymouth Argyle in Yeovil’s fourth game of the season.
Plymouth deservedly took the three points with goals from Natasha Knapman, Jessie Jones and Becky Dandridge in what was a game to forget for Yeovil.
Neither team looked like scoring in the opening minutes of the first half, but the deadlock was broken on the 34th minute when Becky Dandridge’s shot found the corner of the net giving Plymouth the lead.
Four minutes into the second half Plymouth doubled their lead after Helen Bleazard set Becky Dandridge up and she made no mistake finding the back of the net.
Plymouth’s third goal came from Jessie Jones dispossessed Yeovil defender Jodie Chubb and her shot went straight into the corner of the net.
Former-Yeovil player, Natasha Knapman, managed to get Plymouth’s fourth goal of the afternoon after a great pass from Helen Bleazard found Knapman who slammed the ball into the back of the net. Four minutes later Jessie Jones managed to find Knapman (who was unmarked) and she headed in her second of the game.
On the 84th minute Yeovil managed to snatch one back after Annie Heatherson’s shot bounced off Plymouth’s captain Katie Middleton which hit the fat post before going in off the other post.
Yeovil will face Watford away on the 22nd of September in which they will hope to get back to winning ways.
