We have now entered Gameweek 4 of the Women’s Championship and already we have been treated to some exceptional football over the last few weeks and this weekend is no different as second place Sunderland welcomes current leaders Crystal Palace to Eppleton Colliery Football Ground.

With the two teams level on points with two wins in their last two games it is all to play for in this game however Crystal Palace do have a much more superior goal difference going into this match thanks to a 9-1 victory last weekend against Durham. Sunderland could only manage a 1-0 Victory against Southampton.

Scoring goals is not a problem for this Crystal Palace side however keeping clean sheets has proven to be a lot more difficult which has lead to Crystal Palace not keeping a clean sheet in any of their first three games. Their opponents Sunderland have not conceded a goal in this campaign yet and are the only team in the Women’s Championship left with this achievement however that could come to an end after this weekend.

Crystal Palace have conceded three goals this season all three have come in second Half stoppage time this is something that Crystal Palace Women’s Manager Laura Kaminski has highlighted and assures fans will be worked on.

Ahead of this game, Sunderland Women’s Manager Melanie Reay has been discussing how important discipline is especially in high-intensity games such as this and Copeland believes that discipline could be a major factor in deciding this game.

Prediction: Sunderland 1 – 1 Crystal Palace
