After last weekend’s cup action, MK Dons Women find themselves back at Stadium MK as they welcome Chatham United
Following form, the highs of scoring 7 past Selsey, and scoring a last-minute equaliser vs Oxford, Dons will be full of confidence going into this week’s fixture.
But Chatham United will be no easy task, as last season they bore the name of Gillingham Town FC.
Last year the Dons and Gillingham played 3 times with the Dons taking the advantage winning 2 of the 3 games played. But in the league, both teams were even as both sides won the away fixture.
With their previous head to head record Chatham will be confident going into this weekend as they look to cause an upset. But this time around the game will be played at Stadium MK and not at Fairfield’s. What could play in the Dons favour as in recent times Gillingham now Chatham have not played at Stadium MK for a few seasons, and the Dons will be looking to put on a show ahead of their expectant home fans.
Chatham now have ex Don Nicole Pepper in their ranks, and the Dons will be fully aware of her creativity on and off the Ball as well as Set pieces. With Pepper back at Stadium MK it will help add some extra spice for this weekend’s fixture. Pepper will be desperate to get a result vs her old side and lead Chatham to victory.
Going into the game itself Chatham have had a slow start to the 2023/24 season losing out newly promoted Hashtag United 3-1 and to Tier 4 side AFC Wimbledon in the determine round of the FAWNL League Cup. The defeat itself to Wimbledon would have hurt Chatham as they conceded two late goals. So this weekend they will be looking to bounce back and re start their season with a victory over the Dons.
Last Meeting – 26-2-23 Cheltenham Town 0 – MK Dons Women 1
Charlie Bill’s Women travelled to Chatham Wood to partake in their third away league fixture within that week. As the team looked to build on their draw against Cheltenham Town Ladies. Mollie Coupar scored the only goal in a tight game, and at the full time whistle the Dons leapfrogged Cheltenham into 7th in the FAWNL Southern Premiership.

How are you settling into MK Dons Women?
I feel like I am settling in well at MK Dons, I am enjoying getting to know everyone and learning more about the way they play and their principals.
What goals have you set yourself for the upcoming season?
For this season I want to firstly get back to full match fitness, after being out for so long due to ACL and meniscus injury this is a key one for me.
What do you feel is your greatest strength and how can this improve the team?
I feel like my biggest strength is my vision and ability to pass a ball. Hopefully I will be able to make an impact on the team with this.
Tell us a random fact about yourself?
I am also coaching along side playing football, I have already achieved my FA level 1 coaching badge and I am looking to do my level 2 in the coming months.
